𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗖 𝗜𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗲𝘀 𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗔 𝟭𝟮𝟮𝟯𝟮 𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗲𝗿𝗺 𝗼𝗳 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗞 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀

𝗦𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲: COMELEC Resolution No. 11207

The 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 (𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗖) has promulgated rules and regulations implementing 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝗰𝘁 𝗡𝗼. 𝟭𝟮𝟮𝟯𝟮, which sets the 𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗺 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 of Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials to four (4) years.

𝗞𝗘𝗬 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦

📌 Term of office for Barangay and SK officials is now 𝟰 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀

📌 Barangay officials:
➡️ Maximum of 𝟯 consecutive terms

📌 SK officials:
➡️ Only 𝟭 term allowed

𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗦𝗖𝗛𝗘𝗗𝗨𝗟𝗘

📅 Next BSKE:
➡️ First Monday of November 2026

📌 Elections will be held every 4 years thereafter

𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗨𝗠𝗣𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗢𝗙 𝗢𝗙𝗙𝗜𝗖𝗘

📌 Elected officials will assume office on:
➡️ December 1 following the election

𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗠 𝗟𝗜𝗠𝗜𝗧𝗦 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗥𝗨𝗟𝗘𝗦

📌 Voluntary resignation does NOT interrupt term continuity

📌 Incumbent officials serving:
➡️ 3 consecutive terms are NOT eligible to run again for the same position

𝗦𝗞 𝗥𝗨𝗟𝗘 𝗖𝗟𝗔𝗥𝗜𝗙𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡

📌 SK officials from 2023 elections:
➡️ May run again in 2026
➡️ Provided they meet qualifications and are not disqualified

𝗛𝗢𝗟𝗗-𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗥 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗜𝗢𝗡

📌 Current officials will continue serving:
➡️ Until successors are elected and qualified

COMELEC ensures that these rules support a 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲, 𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗹𝘆, 𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 conduct of the 2026 BSKE.
